The letter sent yesterday by the Central Election Commission to the Constitutional Court proposes to assign the municipal administrations to search for the ballots from 7 polling stations that were not in the bags provided to the court, namely these empty bags are the reason why the experts wrote protocols with zero results, although it is evident from video recordings that voting was done in them. Rositsa Mateva, Deputy Chairperson of the CEC:
"There are ballots from both machine voting and paper voting. These ballots must have been handed over by the section election commissions and the municipal administrations, even if some mistake was made in the bags in which they were placed, they must be opened, in our opinion".
The court also gives instructions on which data should be entered by 11 sections with double expertise, both for votes on candidate lists and for valid and invalid votes. Only the first ones will be entered.
"That is, we will enter 2193 protocols that have been submitted to the Constitutional Court", Mateva added.
The court says that technical errors were indeed made in the technical medium provided and sends a new one, the data from which to enter them, but here too the CEC again asked the court questions.
"Should the votes established by the experts as valid be added to the actual votes for the respective candidate list, indicated in the sectional protocol with the results of the vote of October 27".
The last thing from the court's letter to the CEC is a ban on publishing the protocols of the expertises on the commission's website.
"Until the Constitutional Court issues a final court decision on the constitutional 33 of 2024", explained Rositsa Mateva.
