An unknown monster has skinned a live dog in Svishtov. Veterinarians in Ruse are fighting for its life.
The shocking sadism was reported on its Facebook page by the Association „Together for the Homeless Animals – „Bella and Life Without Risk". The post makes it clear that initially the environmentalists received a report of an animal hit by a jeep on "Apostol Konkovich" Street in the Danube city. It happened around 6.30 a.m. on April 2, but the witness did not remember the car's license plate.
"We have been to many reports, but we have never seen such madness. 70% of the dog's skin was removed. There is only skin on the head and stomach...", wrote the association, which also runs a shelter for four-legged friends. They are categorical that the injury could not have been caused by a car hit.
After the dog was given emergency care, it was taken to a clinic in Ruse. The doctors there are fighting for its life. A signal was given to 112 and a team from the Svishtov police arrived on the scene.
The animal has been cleaned and stabilized. If it survives and there are no other internal injuries, it will undergo the first surgery tomorrow to graft skin and cover the living flesh.
The perpetrator of the shocking cruelty is being sought. Animal rights activists are calling on anyone with information about what happened to call them or the police.
