What is happening with the Sofia public transport is a visible sabotage. Even the private carrier is blocked in the depots and is not given the opportunity to serve the citizens of Sofia. Boyko Borisov should not pretend that it has nothing to do with this. This sabotage is also political.
This was stated by the MP from the PG of “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB) Bozhidar Bozhanov to journalists in parliament.
Bozhanov announced that Sofia Municipality loses at least 550 thousand leva per day from unsold tickets.
„The fact that they are trying to sabotage the mayor of Sofia is an entirely political move," he emphasized.
Lena Borislavova from the same parliamentary group stated that the „powerful" people from GERB can best punish the citizens of Sofia because they did not vote for them in the last mayoral elections.
„It does not do Mr. Borisov any honor to pretend that he does not know the organizers of this political protest, who are misleading even ordinary drivers and workers in the municipality. This is about Ekaterina Yordanova, who is the chairwoman of “Women GERB”, until recently the chairwoman of the Union of Transport Unions, a municipal councilor of GERB and the lady who threw herself on Boyko Borisov's neck on the night of his arrest,” Borislavova pointed out.
Bozhanov added that the PP-DB is not against increasing the drivers' salaries, but this must be done in the prescribed manner.
Municipal councilor Boyko Dimitrov informed that municipal transport operators are losing nearly 1 million leva every day due to the blockade of buses, trolleybuses and trams. He reminded that Mayor Terziev offered 100 leva to all employees plus up to 300 leva to drivers, but the union leaders refused this offer.
The Chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council, Tsvetomir Petrov, stated categorically that they will not stop working until the problem is resolved. When asked whether a third proposal is expected from the mayor, Petrov replied that calculations are currently being made based on what can be covered by the budget.
„This cannot be done on the back of absolutely all the other priorities that we have as the city government", he added.
The chairman of the SOS hopes that the workers will act wisely, because the blockade is against the citizens of the capital.
„It turns out that the people of Varna also have to suffer the change, as well as in Ruse", commented MP Stella Nikolova, who announced that the workers in these cities are also on strike alert.
A political attack is being made on the back of people who are fighting for better wages, she is categorical and pointed out that GERB cannot survive the loss of key cities in Bulgaria.
