The police in Sofia are looking for a man who fled after a chase and shooting in the early hours of today. Pre-trial proceedings are underway in the case. One police officer was slightly injured in the pursuit, BNR reports.
About one hour after midnight, a police patrol reported a signal to the driver of a car that was moving quickly along the Sofia Ring Road in the direction of Pernik. The driver refused to obey and a pursuit began.
A little later, the car was stopped, but when an attempt was made to check it, the driver drove off again and hit one of the police officers with his side mirror, who fell to the ground.
The other police officer first shot in the air, then several more times. Shortly after, the police in Sofia found the wanted car, but the driver still managed to escape.
An investigation is underway into the case, and inspections have been ordered by the director of the Internal Affairs Directorate.
