A math teacher from Sofia with 40 years of experience needs a liver transplant. The biggest support in the fight against the disease are his students. Svetoslav Viyachki is faced with the most difficult task in his life - to find a chance to live. The solution for him comes precisely from those he taught. After hearing the diagnosis of cirrhosis, it was his former students who found a place for him to be treated and raised nearly 60 thousand euros - two-thirds of the funds for the operation, reports bTV.
“I am getting my good back, because even though I am a mathematician, I have never been bad with children“, says Svetoslav.
He undergoes a 9-hour operation, but his donor is not part of the family. “My son did not agree“, says Svetoslav.
And his former student. “The donor is my friend. He did not think twice“.
“Some people tell me - you are a hero. What kind of hero am I? He is, the doctors are heroes“.
Now Mr. Viyachki is recovering, but he needs another 20 thousand euros to pay for the treatment already done.
“Thanks to them, because the whole neighborhood knows me, money was collected here and let's hope that they will help more“, Svetoslav points out.
The good that he sowed in the hearts of hundreds of people is returning today to give him a chance for a new life.
