Rakovski is recovering after last night's storm that passed through the city - rain, hurricane wind and hail caused serious damage, bTV reported.
The damage is extensive after last night's storm that raged in Rakovski, there are closed streets to remove fallen trees and branches, there is damage not only to the infrastructure of the town, there are roofs blown off, chimneys have fallen.
At this moment, Rakovski is without electricity and it is not clear when the power will be restored.
The hurricane wind has knocked down dozens of huge trees along the central street of the Sekirovo district. There are fallen chimneys, blown away roof tiles, broken concrete pillars.
The storm has also caused significant damage to the agricultural market - over 1,000 square meters of roofs have been blown away from the buildings, says the market owner.
“Unprecedented, there is a security guard here at the market, he has never seen anything like this, he is 70 years old. Roofs were flying, it was something scary, it was with water and wind, he hid in the room“, says Svetoslav Stoykov, the market owner.
There has been no electricity in Rakovski since last night, which is why mobile communications are difficult, people say. Shop owners took out generators in an attempt to save their goods.
Priority has been provided for the power supply to the hospital in the city, EVN reported. It is not yet clear when the entire city will have electricity.
The Rakovski Municipality has formed a commission that is to go from house to house to describe the damage.
