I cannot say everything about the reasons for the decision to pardon Desislava Ivancheva. There is one decision of the Constitutional Court. In addition, they are related to personal information, personal data, sensitive information, so I cannot reveal everything. We were entirely guided by a human point of view, in view of the health condition of Mrs. Ivancheva and her mother, who takes care of her child, but can no longer. This was stated by Vice President Iliyana Yotova in the program “More from the Day” on BNT.

I can't say more, she specified.

This is also written in Mrs. Ivancheva's personal request, which we received 10 days ago. “She wants to take care of her child, because there is no one to take care of him. It is not correct for me to tell you what is written in the request. I made this decision after a very long discussion. All these years, we have been very carefully monitoring all the requests that came from lawyers, from non-governmental organizations, the signatures in her defense and the opposing opinions, because many people were against her receiving a pardon,” explained Yotova.

“We made this difficult decision, but my practice has convinced me that when such decisions are made according to the law and conscience, they always turn out to be correct, regardless of what we all endure in this process,” she explained.

Regarding Ms. Ivancheva's words that this act is political PR, the Vice President stated the following: “There is no good deed that goes unpunished. I leave everything to her conscience. I wish her, if she decides to seek her rights, to find them. The process of the presidential institution is over. In this case, we are talking about human destiny. The presidential institution is not a court. Pardon does not justify her. No one should profit from this process”.

When asked if she would expect Ivancheva's support if she ran for president, Iliyana Yotova replied: "I don't remember saying until now that I would run for president, secondly, everyone will make their choice as their conscience dictates".
