Children came to the rescue in extinguishing the fire in Sungurlare. Before the regular government meeting, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov introduced the minor heroes - Daniel Galabov, Alexander Dimitrov, Viktor Nikolov, Atanas Krastev and Stanislav Bozhikov, and the ministers in the cabinet applauded them and expressed gratitude for their valiant act.
„These are the boys who, in these difficult days, with their quiet and modest example in Sungurlare, came to the rescue in their own way. He became so visible to everyone and gave such courage to the firefighters, the foresters, the field workers, the volunteers, that there was no option but to invite them here to express our gratitude and appreciation. They are ambassadors of all those who, in these difficult times, show human virtue, show that modest, quiet and unpretentious heroism, but at the same time what makes us feel united as people, as Bulgarians, to be directed towards each other with humanity and empathy, which is so lacking in our everyday lives”, said the Prime Minister. Zhelyazkov thanked the children's parents “for investing in them love, effort and skills and encouraging them on their path”.
”Without risk, there are no results!”, the 15-16-year-old children were categorical. The teenagers put out the fire with sprinklers and batons. ”We have nothing to fear! In such moments we must be together, united, and since we believe in God, we have nothing to fear”, says one of the little big heroes.
The boys were sent off with a second round of applause and the Prime Minister continued with the agenda of the Council of Ministers.
„This government has set itself ambitious goals for raising the living standards of Bulgarians. We have many tasks that we must solve in the coming days and weeks. Therefore, all attacks against the cabinet, which heat up the autumn political situation, should not meet our reaction, because our view is beyond petty issues and current affairs. We follow our clear program for governance, because we implement policies, and we do not deal with gossip”, emphasized Rosen Zhelyazkov.
„We observe an instability in terms of political consensus, related to the balance between institutions. This does not allow the formation of bodies related to the protection of national security, as well as our diplomatic service, at the moment. This is a rather dangerous precedent, because the balance prescribed by the spirit of the Constitution and the laws is paralyzed”, the Prime Minister warns. According to him, however, it is the parliament that has the responsibility to try to restore this balance with the relevant legal changes.
„We are expecting the beginning of the political season for the parliament. For us, the political season is without a vacation. We continue our work in sectors and are ready to take on any responsibility, including the political battles that are coming in the fall,” the Prime Minister added.
