In Pleven, the streets are washed with poor quality water, and it will be discontinued so as not to cause public tension. This was stated to BTV by the director of the "Bulgarian Water and Sewerage Holding" Eng. Losko Lozev.
And he was categorical that it is not washed with drinking water: "This is 100% certain."
"This year we have issued a hundred protocols in Pleven for unregulated use. According to the regulations, it is assumed that 10% of the losses are from theft. In my opinion, there are more thefts in the city," said Lozev.
He pointed out that even in the regime - water in Pleven cannot be left unpaid.
Solving the water problem requires a complex response, he also said.
A drilling is currently being carried out on the Vit River.
"We are currently at an elevation of 60 meters. The goal of this drilling is to reach 120 meters to reach the water reserves, where we hope there will be a larger amount."
"A number of measures must be implemented - either to reduce water consumption, or to bring in an additional 300 liters per second."
He added that the municipality is also starting to do a test drilling at the Kozhurakhova fountain.
Pleven has two strategic sources - one from the Danube River, the other is the construction of the dam, said the head of the Water and Sewerage Service.
"The dam is the better option, but this will take time. We have to pour these additional water quantities into this broken tank, so we need to replace the water pipes urgently," concluded Lozev.
