Sociologist Andrey Raichev and political PR Diana Damyanova commented on bTV on the tension surrounding the case in Ruse, trust in institutions and the stability of the ruling coalition.
Damyanova stressed that the video footage of the incident shows a helpless man being kicked in the street – an action that, according to her, “borders on attempted murder“. She expressed concern about the hate speech on social networks, where publications appear welcoming violence.
Raichev, for his part, emphasized the deeper problem – the erosion of trust in institutions, especially after the disputes between the court and the prosecutor's office over the implementation of legal changes.
„Do you want anyone to believe such a thing? They expose themselves at every step“, he said.
Analysts drew parallels with Serbia and Romania, where isolated incidents and public tension led to mass protests and political instability. According to Raichev, there is no such catalyst in our country, but the tension between society and the elite is growing.
„Bulgarian society has reasons to dislike its political elite, but it has become absorbed in its everyday problems – children, the future, income“, Damyanova commented.
