„We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria“ and MECH officially submitted a vote of no confidence in the government. The topic is “Justice and internal security“. Support for the vote was stated by the entire opposition.
„We submitted our vote of no confidence for this government, which is not coping with internal security and justice and is deepening the problem with the conquered state“, said Bozhidar Bozhanov from PP-DB. He specified that it is not just a matter of failure to cope, but of “a systematic refusal to fight the conquest by behind-the-scenes interests that have no legitimacy, but exercise power. First of all, Peevski, who is seizing more and more power“.
The signatures under the vote are from deputies from PP–DB, MECH and “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms“ (APS). The contribution to the “Internal Security“ part is from MECH, and the rest of the reasons, which are over 80 pages, were prepared by PP–DB.
Assen Vassilev linked the lack of law and order to the economic problems in the country. “Bulgaria deserves a better government. We see the effects every day - higher energy prices, the price of water, whether it is available or not, by 20 percent higher. University fees too. Prices are being raised to fill coffers like BBR, which can then, in the absence of law and order, be stolen“, Vassilev said. According to him, every day there is a "plunder and impoverishment of Bulgarians", with over 1 million people living below the poverty line.
Atanas Atanasov from DSB added that the country is facing a "de facto usurpation of repressive power against the inconvenient".
Support for the vote was also stated by the other opposition forces. "Velicie" commented that "100 percent every vote of no confidence is welcome". "Vazrazhdane" was also categorical that they would support all attempts to overthrow the cabinet. "We will participate in the debates and the vote. We must overthrow this government", said Angel Slavchev.
