The Council of Ministers adopted a decision to grant free of charge the management of a property - public state property, representing part of the island of "St. St. Kirik and Julita" in the town of Sozopol, to the Ministry of Culture. The decision creates conditions for the comprehensive and sustainable development of the territory as a site of exceptionally high cultural and historical value and strategic importance for the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The opportunity is provided for the consistent implementation of the state policy on the preservation, socialization and promotion of cultural heritage, as well as for the development of the island as a museum, cultural and research center of international importance. The decision is consistent with the current regimes for the protection of the territory.
The decision does not result in additional costs for the state budget and is aimed at ensuring sustainable management of state property in a public interest.
