The SDVR revealed previous criminal acts of some of those detained after the protest on December 1st - 1

The SDVR published details about the previous criminal acts of the five young men, for whom the prosecution requested the most severe measure - "detention in custody", after the vandalism during the protest on December 1st in Sofia, reports bTV.

Yesterday, the prosecution announced that some of the detainees had previous criminal acts, but without giving details of what they were. Today, the SDVR revealed that the cases range from drunk driving and theft to participation in a criminal group.

Among them is 19-year-old Zh.Zh., who in 2023 drove a car after using drugs.

The 21-year-old with the initials K.Y. has several cases – he was detained for threatening, for illegally assisting a foreigner and for refusing to be tested for alcohol and drugs while driving a car.

L.T. is 25 years old and is accused of assisting foreigners and arson.

The 21-year-old M.I. was accused of driving after being disqualified from driving, and N.A., also 21, has a long history – was detained for theft, possession of drugs and involvement in the so-called “locals“ was established.

During the protest on December 1, the accused acted aggressively – they threw stones, glass bottles and pyrotechnics at police officers, overturned garbage cans and used objects from the containers as improvised weapons. The prosecutor's office emphasized that their actions were “clear disrespect for society“ and “extremely cynical and audacious“.

For five other accused, the measures are lighter – cash bail or a written statement, which is in line with the nature of their actions and their personal characteristics. The investigation continues, new interrogations and analysis of video recordings of the chaotic scenes in the center of Sofia are pending.
