The prosecutor's office brought the case to court so that I could not participate in the elections. This is what Vasil Bozhkov wrote on his Facebook profile, after yesterday the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office submitted an indictment to the Sofia City Court (SGS) in pre-trial proceedings for an organized criminal group created for the purpose of extortion, official and corruption crimes, FOCUS reported.
"It was about time this case went to court. For 4 years, the prosecutor's office has been deliberately hanging around and lying. He brought the case to court, one day before the "house arrest" measure expired, so that I could not actively participate in the upcoming elections. They are trying to stop the inevitable," Bozhkov wrote in his post.
Earlier in the day, at a briefing by the prosecutor's office, it became clear that more than 250 people had been questioned on charges of racketeering, extortion and corruption against Bozhkov and the other nine.
