Massive police checks were carried out today by officers of the Third RU and their colleagues in Hisarya in the main areas of activity – criminal, economic and security. The preventive action is aimed at preventing all types of crimes, including those related to the political rights of citizens.
The work of the employees from the two regional offices is supported by teams of the “Specialized Police Forces” and “Special Tactical Actions”, as well as from the Zonal Gendarmerie Directorate. Regional representatives of the "Customs" Agency, the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency, the National Revenue Agency, the Forestry Executive Agency and other state bodies also participate in some of the inspections. The control covers the illegal possession and distribution of narcotic substances, excise goods and articles of protected trademarks; compliance with the requirements for acquisition and storage of firearms; trade in ferrous and non-ferrous metals; usury activity.
We are also working on information about committed thefts, robberies and other violations of the law. The probability of buying and selling votes in the upcoming elections is being actively checked. Enhanced checks are also carried out in terms of road safety.
Until 4:30 p.m. in the Plovdiv district “Sheker Mahala“ 179 motor vehicles were stopped, the identities of 195 persons were removed, of which 48 had criminal records. 7 private addresses and 8 commercial establishments were visited, in which tax inspectors drew up 3 acts and 2 finding protocols for documented irregularities. Two pre-trial proceedings and a preliminary investigation were instituted, and the prosecutor's office was notified. An unregistered gas pistol was found and seized. A total of 44 administrative sanctions were issued for violations of the Road Traffic Act, and 11 electronic receipts were handed out.
During the parallel action on the territory of Hisarya and 10 villages in the region, an increased police presence was ensured in the outer neighborhoods and risk zones. 5 addresses, 2 pawn shops and a gaming hall were checked; 96 cars; 119 persons, 4 of whom are of interest to the police; 11 commercial establishments, with 2 acts and 2 finding protocols drawn up by the representatives of the National Revenue Agency; 3 acts and 23 fines with slips were issued for violations of traffic rules.
The deputy director of the ODMVR – Plovdiv Commissioner Nikolay Kirkov also presented accumulated data from the overall activity of the employees since the beginning of the election campaign - a total of 12,475 motor vehicles were checked; 418 persons from the active criminal contingent; 531 places designated as risk zones; 226 pawnshops, fast credit companies, non-ferrous metal points and other commercial establishments. Nine wanted persons have been identified. Interviews were held with 43 local ethnic leaders and the owners of 187 companies. More than 150 offenders were arrested with police warrants. 32 warning protocols have been issued under Art. 65 of the Ministry of Interior. Investigations were conducted on 8 reports of vote buying, and the materials were sent to the prosecutor's office, and in the course of the work, in 6 of the cases, the information was not confirmed.
In the operation on the territory of the ODMVR Montana, officers from the criminal, economic, security and traffic police, teams from the four regional administrations in the district, the Zonal Gendarmerie Administration – Montana and representatives of the Regional Food Safety Directorate.
In the course of the action, 14 crimes related to conventional crime were discovered – illegal possession of weapons, storage of firewood without documents of origin, theft and other criminal offenses. Two were arrested and one was wanted, declared a nationwide manhunt. A report of a possible violation related to the upcoming elections has been checked, and at the moment there is no evidence of a crime having been committed.
7 files for violations of the law and one pre-trial proceeding were established. Inspections were carried out at 45 private addresses, commercial and other facilities and places for which there is evidence that criminal activity may be taking place – 23 commercial establishments, 16 pawnshops and non-bank institutions for the provision of quick loans, 13 collection points for persons with criminal records, 3 car morgues and depots for disassembling end-of-life cars. In the course of the operation, 202 cars and 261 people were checked, of which 26 had criminal records. A total of 50 sanctions were imposed for established administrative violations, including tickets under the Road Traffic Act. 9 warning protocols have been issued under Art. 65 of the Law on the Interior.
Within the scope of the operation on the territory of the Ruse region, the employees of the ODMVR checked 566 persons, of which 24 persons of interest, 457 motor vehicles and their drivers, 11 acts were drawn up for established administrative violations and 80 with slips. Two were detained.
6 points for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, 6 pawnshops, 7 auto repair shops and morgues, 21 gathering places for persons from the criminal contingent, 16 drinking and entertainment establishments, 36 commercial establishments were checked. Together with other bodies, 3 acts were drawn up for established administrative violations and discovery protocols.
5 crimes were registered. Two quick proceedings were instituted against motor vehicle drivers - one found to have tested positive for drugs /methamphetamine/ on the territory of the RU – Two mounds, and the other with a positive test for alcohol in a concentration of over 1.2 per mille, after a report of a traffic accident with material damage on the territory of RU – Plum field.
