An impressive amount of cocaine has been seized on a ship at the port of Burgas. According to initial data, the value of the narcotics amounts to nearly 7 million dollars. The ship, with a capacity of 15 thousand metric tons, arrived from Peru with a crew of 11 people. It was loaded with copper concentrate, intended for processing in a metal products manufacturing plant, Nova TV reported.
The procedural actions were taken upon a signal. So far, 190 kg of a white powdery substance have been found, which gave the characteristic reaction of cocaine in field drug tests. Experts have found that instead of the previously known method of concealment - separate caches in containers, a new method was used. The cocaine was scattered in various places along the pipeline system of the entire vessel, equipment located in the engine room.
The search is still ongoing. The operation is being carried out by employees of the Ministry of Interior, assisted by representatives of the “Customs“ Agency. The ship's crew has been detained.
