A boy was beaten up near a bus stop in the center of Sofia by a gang of youths in black, bTV reports. The incident occurred today at around 2:30 p.m. The scene of the attack is busy - the bus stop “Ploshtad Orlov Most“ on “Evlogi i Hristo Georgievi“ blvd. A metro station, a bookstore, and a clothing and shoe store are located a few meters from the scene of the attack.
The youths in black sportswear hit the boy in front of the people waiting for the train.
Finally, a woman intervenes and manages to chase them away, and the boy remains sitting on the sidewalk.
The police responded to a report of the attack, but by the time the law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, the youths had already left. Later, the SDVR reported to bTV that there were detainees after the attack.
This is another case in which young people are rampaging on the streets of the capital. The Ministry of Justice announced that it is taking measures to combat hooliganism in so-called “locals“ – underage young people who disrupt public order and harass their peers.
According to the Minister of Justice Georgi Georgiev, sanctions are not an adequate punishment for teenagers who disrupt public order.
“Standard detention measures cannot be applied to them, as they can have serious consequences. We are talking about young people in whom a lasting attitude to commit a crime has not been formed. There must be adequate legislative intervention“, Georgiev explained.
