Brad Arnold, the frontman and co-founder of the American rock band 3 Doors Down, died at the age of 47 on February 7, 2026.

His death came after a nine-month battle with stage four kidney cancer (clear cell renal cell carcinoma), which had metastasized to his lungs.

According to the band's official statement, he died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his family and wife Jennifer.

Arnold was the band's vocalist, primary songwriter, and original drummer. Among the biggest hits he wrote were "Kryptonite", "Here Without You", "When I'm Gone"

The band's achievements include three Grammy nominations and over 16 million albums sold.
Due to his illness, the band canceled their planned summer tour with Creed in 2025.

Arnold was also known for his devotion to his faith and his successful nine-year sobriety, which he celebrated in January 2025.
