Perm cannibal Mikhail Malyshev died at the age of 65 in a clinic where he went to see a doctor, reports SHOT.
“The maniac died on Friday afternoon in Perm Hospital No. 21. He went there for a medical examination, but did not reach the doctor's office: near the entrance he felt unwell, grabbed his heart, fell and died“, the message says.
Malyshev was arrested in 2000 for two proven murders, although a polygraph test claims that he was involved in at least eight: he killed, dismembered and partially ate a man and a woman. He dumped the remains of the first victim near a house on Marshal Rybalko Street.
Detectives found the second dismembered body in a river. Malyshev reportedly used the soft tissue to fry cutlets and threw away the rest. He often made kebabs out of stray dogs.
The case against Malyshev took place in 2002 and he was sentenced to 25 years for two murders. He served his sentence in the Perm region, undergoing mandatory psychiatric treatment.
He was released from prison in October 2022.
According to SHOT, after his release from prison, Malyshev found work at an animal shelter.
