An unusual innovation has begun to attract attention in several Bulgarian cities - vending machines that offer rakia at the push of a button.
The concept aims to combine traditional Bulgarian taste with modern technology, popularizing our traditional drink among tourists.
The machines resemble well-known coffee and beverage machines, but instead offer tasting doses of plum rakia. Each user can choose between different selections of plum rakia.
The company explains that the devices are equipped with a special interface that provides information about the origin of the drink, its production method and the recommended temperature for consumption. Thus, each dose becomes not just a drink, but a small experience.
The first machines, according to the information, have already been installed in pilot locations, and the interest in them is expected to be huge during the Plum Festival in Troyan. There, visitors will be able to try different types of rakia in a quick and affordable way. There are already inquiries about installing similar machines in hotels, including in breakfast areas, where they could complement the standard coffee machines with a Bulgarian accent.
An interesting function of the devices is the so-called. “Friendly Mode“, which takes into account activity around the machine and offers the next drink option only when there is company - an idea inspired by the social nature of the Bulgarian tradition of drinking rakia.
Although the concept sounds like a natural step towards modernizing traditions, VINPROM - TROYAN clarifies with a smile that this is an April Fool's joke, with which they wish all Bulgarians more occasions for joy, smiles and mutual respect. Cheers!
