A 100-year-old American woman told USA Today about her successful sports activities.

Mary Koroneos turned a century in June 2025. She celebrated her anniversary in the gym to emphasize that age should not be an obstacle to an active life.

The American had a busy life: she raised children alone, worked in four places and did not forget about sports.

Now, despite her age, she continues to train in the gym. She goes to the gym three times a week, trains on an exercise bike, does complex exercises with dumbbells and elastic bands.

Koroneos points to constant physical activity, proper nutrition and communication with people as the secret of her longevity. She is convinced that “the body is created for movement“.

Her daily diet includes homemade vegetable soups, lean meat and fresh fruit. At the same time, she does not deny herself her favorite desserts. The centenarian continues to read books, get acquainted with the news on her smartphone and communicate with young people, considering social connections to be the most important element of a happy life.
