The collapse of the party “Greatness” on the 19th day of the constitution of the parliament is a new chance for the greatness of the "Revival" party, which remained fourth - after its counterpart took away a hundred thousand voters and crossed the 4 percent threshold. But for a future, again early, election in 3 months, Kostadin Kostadinov's nationalists will have better chances to aim for the second place, and they have now started to build their new image and communication.
First of all, they demonstrated political will to govern, proposing a government to be elected with the third mandate and the votes of all parties in the parliament without GERB and DPS. Understand - with PP-DB, “There is such a people” (ITN), BSP and “Velichie”. From “Revival” made the offer with the clear awareness that the PP-DB would never ally with the extreme right, repeaters of Kremlin messages, Eurosceptics and opponents of NATO membership.
And they would hardly get the third term from the president.
Poisonous Double
Nevertheless, Kostadin Kostadinov willingly and convincingly explains how they are ready to overcome their differences, reducing them to subjective assessments, and not to the essence - value incompatibilities. “The key is in PP-DB. We have no problem overcoming our differences with others, including PP-DB. If PP-DB overcome these fundamental differences, if PP-DB overcome their ego and short-sightedness, such a cabinet is possible.
It seems that the political forces have come into play considering the next early elections, and that of “Revival” is to become a double of PP-DB - a poisonous double. Ever since the 49th Parliament in the communication of “Revival” the thesis remains that they would never manage with DPS. “The News” since the last days, they have already packaged GERB with DPS in their frequent attacks, and the leader of GERB, Boyko Borisov, joined the role-playing game, who named Kostadinov as “the new Peevski” in the parliament.
PP-DB declared itself as the opposition, but “Revival” take advantage of the fact that they have not soiled themselves with participation in the government and attack the DPS, while the PP-DB avoid confrontation with the Movement and mainly attack the GERB. From the rostrum of the parliament, Kostadinov even called DPS dangerous for the state and that it has no place in Bulgarian politics. Known to those who remember Ivan Kostov's phrase that “DPS is the curse for Bulgaria”. In response, the co-chairman of the DPS Peevski stated that he will not allow pro-Russian parties to mess with the DPS and will do “whatever it takes, no one will talk to them like that”.
Clutch-cuts
“Revival” are determined to win second place in the next election, and to do so they must show that they are opponents of the infighting-torn DPS, second after the June vote. They also show a tendency to self-censor themselves from promoting the Kremlin's theses, at least for a while - in the hope that voters outside their core, misled by a more balanced and more reasonable behavior, will also believe them. That is why Kostadin Kostadinov lowers the degrees of his political speech, even slows down the pace and now sounds more moderate, not so aggressive - more like the mature Karakachanov than the early Siderov. It is not difficult for him, his political career started from VMRO, but he “schooled” and in “Attack”.
That is why the anti-DPS narrative succeeds. Eight years ago, as a municipal councilor from VMRO in Varna, Kostadinov insisted that the Turkish and Arabic names of localities be replaced with Bulgarian ones. Now he warned Peevski to be careful, lest the fate of the leader of "Greatness" befall him. “The janissaries in the DPS rebelled against the Turks and their fate will be the same as that of their predecessors in 1826 in the Ottoman Empire (after numerous janissary revolts, Sultan Mahmud II destroyed the janissary corps by mass slaughter, b.a.)”. With these constructions characteristic of nationalism, Kostadinov earns certain dividends in a situation in which the other political leaders do not comment on the battle in the DPS.
Ridiculous and absurd to the point of comicality
And “Majesty”, which appeared for the first time in the 50th Parliament, is slowly going down in history, leaving behind only the noise of crunching peanuts - the favorite nuts of its co-founder and creator of the Historical Park attraction Ivelin Mihailov. Peanuts, not value differences, turned out to be one of the red lines between Mihailov and Lt. Col. Nikolai Markov, chairman of the disbanded parliamentary group, who claims to be its leader. “I didn't eat peanuts, he ate peanuts... eating peanuts separates us,” Markov said on bTV after the presenter recalled the peanut eating in their first public appearance after the June 9 vote.
And no, this is not a “Hidden Camera” show, in which someone will tell Markov and Mihailov - it's a joke, people, you are not politicians, we purposely set up this trick for you. It is quite true, 99,862 voters secured 13 parliamentary seats for "Majesty", which ended up with two leaders, one outside the parliament, the other inside, but without being a member of the party, which has a chairwoman who calls a landline telephone in the National Assembly to ask when the party subsidy will be paid - and then denies that she did so in a video showing for the first time. And that's not all. Horrible stories of threats are projected on the screen - from both sides, a 4-hour lock-up in a barn with confiscated phones of deputies from “Velichie”, including a former commando, and finally a split 6 to 7 in favor of Nikolay Markov.< /p>
