Dogan and Peevski grabbed each other's throats. "The Son" invites "The Father" in the arena. "We both know what the truth is." Why did not a single party in Bulgaria want to tell the "truth", even though parts of it had been known for a long time?
The figure that the honorary chairman of DPS uses to respond to the love letters of the until recently "phenomenon in politics" is laconic and picturesque. and his personal favorite, Delyan Peevski: "It's too late for a wristband". We can develop the metaphor using the same poem which also says:
"The time is now secret,
ugly false midnight."
The epistolary exchange between "The Father" and "Son" is saturated with drama, threats and high verbal temperature: "rough trampling", "brutal treatment" and "mutren approaches" characterize the "serious crisis" and the "illegitimate replacement", which Dogan informs us about, who - who knows why - is only now noticing the destructive processes in his own party.
"The Empire Strikes Back" with the claim that these are "reminiscences of times gone by".
The cynicism of the "Son" who wants to kill the "Father" is that Peevski speaks with "concern" for the people who trusted him, he "will not betray them". The sanctioned under "Magnitsky" talks about "rule of law" and for a New Beginning.
And the suspense is in the postscript: "We know each other very well. We both know what the truth is."
Is something going on at DPS? That is their problem.
For years, none of the traditional Bulgarian parties wanted to publicly announce "what the truth is", even though parts of it had been known for a long time.
For years none of the traditional political parties wanted to recognize Muslims as "worthy" its members.
The arrogance, neglect, disrespect and detachment of the Bulgarian political elite towards the Bulgarian Turks during the years of the Bulgarian transition actually divided the Bulgarian society into "ours" and "yours". The behavior of these leaders is a mark of archaic, antediluvian, cellular racism, deeply hidden under the vocabulary of pseudo-tolerance.
For the leadership of the major Bulgarian parties, it was much more convenient to agree with one person, in this case Dogan, with whom to negotiate how much of the ethnic vote should be traded for what, than to work on these regions. Because if you don't visit the places where Bulgarian Turks live, if you don't know their problems, if you don't make efforts to create quality contacts and help people's economic independence, if you don't make commitments and fulfill your promises, the result will always be be questioned.
It is much easier to meet with Beya, to promise him approximately 25 million from the state budget to cover the obligations at the Varna Thermal Power Plant, and to end "this annoyance".
For years, the state protected Dogan, satisfied his personal ego and turned a blind eye to clear violations of the law. As some of the founders of the party claim, if someone goes to check the sheds of the honorary chairman, he cannot prove even one hundredth of the property he has, and it is not known whether this property is held in his name or rather is of some companies.
Is it true that even before 1989, the genius strategists of the KGB and their Bulgarian proxies assigned him a special role? It's not clear yet. But it is very convenient to "create" the person who will officially represent the Muslims in Bulgaria, so as to place them on the political scale with the weight that suits the current internal political and geopolitical situation.
Even the founders of this party are wondering if DPS is not a party programmed by other people with other goals. And they admit: Dogan was always more informed than us, in one form or another he received the overt support of Ankara, and whether there was secret support from Moscow and other centers is a matter that can only be speculated.
It is a matter of political naivety, inexperience, or other deep state insinuations to watch this systemic problem sit in a deferred action program for years and do nothing.
Why right now and just like that?
And Peevski appeared as a delayed-action virus embedded in the program. Although his rise was publicly visible and publicly scandalous. And the state also turned a blind eye to the brutal interference of this creature in the prosecution and law enforcement agencies.
Today "The Son" invites "The Father" in the arena. We live as if in an ancient tragedy. The Bulgarian political elite is seated in the stands. The spectacle is watched with undisguised interest.
Is there something we did not know and learned from the long-awaited address of the honorary chairman of the DPS Ahmed Dogan to the members and sympathizers of the Movement, with which he calls for the resignation of Delyan Peevski and five more of his people?
No, there isn't.
About the question - Why right now and why exactly like that? - we will guess and speculate in the coming hours.
