Comment by Emilia Milcheva:

The leader of “DPS-New beginning” Delyan Peevski worked so hard for the elections on October 27 that he managed to order not only his candidate-deputy lists, but also those of other formations. And if until now the candidate deputies were checked for connections with the former secret services of the social regime, now there is also a need for a check for belonging to Peevski. His lap turned out to be so hospitable that the left alliance BSP+ began to disintegrate even before it came to the polls. Other shadow confidants have yet to reveal themselves.

BSP turns a deaf ear

MIR Party announced that it is leaving the "BSP-United Left" Coalition, as the coalition agreement and dialogue have been violated, and people directly dependent on Peevski have been placed at the head of the lists. "Unfortunately, the BSP was taken on a concession by Peevski and we no longer have a place there," the party says in a public statement. In the BNR program “Sunday 150” the leader of “Movement 21” Tatiana Doncheva, also part of the association, announced that a month and a half ago they raised the issue of dependence on Peevski before the BSP.

We did not meet an understanding, she said, and among those for whom there are substantiated assumptions of connections with the DPS oligarch, Kiril Dobrev and Dragomir Stoynev were pointed out. The former returned to the party after the chairwoman Cornelia Ninova was out of “Positano” 20 and when the lists were arranged, there were people who were unhappy that people connected to Dobrev were given places as drivers. Stoynev was Minister of Energy in the BSP-DPS government with Prime Minister Oresharski.

Peevski's informal group in the 50th Parliament was already evident during the voting of the PP-DB proposal to release the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Anton Slavchev. GERB and Delyan Peevski's DPS kept him in office with their votes, but MPs from the BSP also gave their support, and “There is such a people” (ITN) did not participate in the voting, which in practice is also an assistance for Slavchev, ergo Peevski.

The very next day, the Anti-Corruption Commission (CPC) took action against political competitors of the “DPS-New beginning” with the arrest of the mayor of Mineralni Bani Myumyun Iskender and members of his family. Iskender remained loyal to DPS around honorary chairman Ahmed Dogan, while the mayors of the other two municipalities in Haskovo region, where DPS has a serious presence - Stambolovo and Madjarovo, are supporters of Peevski's faction.

No leadership clash in Kardzhali

And the Haskovo constituency turned out to be the new platform for Delyan Peevski, who will not run in the so-called “DPS fortress” - Kardzhali, where in the previous elections he led the list and set a record for votes for DPS. (The second list that will lead is his familiar Blagoevgrad.) This avoids a leadership clash, and for now it has not been confirmed whether Dogan will choose Kardzhali, where DPS chairmen are traditionally nominated and is an area with a compact Turkish population. This time, however, first in the list of “DPS-New beginning” is the mayor of Kardzhali, Erol Muyun, followed also by two mayors of Jebel and Chernoochene - Nejmi Ali and Ayjan Ahmed.

Thus, the vote of the three municipalities where Peevski's faction holds the local DPS organizations will clash with that of the other four municipalities in the Kardzhali constituency - Momchilgrad, Ardino, Krumovgrad and Kirkovo. In the battle for the five mandates of 9 MIR, it is no wonder that the bat "CCP" is being waved again. - and the Ministry of the Interior, which will pursue some and let others buy and sell votes.

The orchestrator Peevski is not joking in his frantic desire to seize power. As a matter of fact, he kept his word and offered the former Minister of Internal Affairs Kalin Stoyanov a place as the leader of the list in "DPS-New Beginning". - Stoyanov took the lead in Sofia region and is second in his native Burgas. “I am joining as a non-partisan and from a civil quota,” explained Stoyanov in a post on Facebook. That's how Peevski started in the DPS - from the civilian quota.

Stoyanov's immediate agreement confirmed who was the Minister of Internal Affairs in the government of Nikolay Denkov, presented as a cabinet of PP-DB with a single minister of GERB - Maria Gabriel. Stoyanov is the man for whom the political leaders got partial amnesia about who exactly proposed him for the Ministry of the Interior. Proposed by the leader of GERB Boyko Borisov, met in a car with the co-chairman of PPKyril Petkov, intercepted “somehow” by Peevski. Now the former police officer with over 25 years of service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs promises to expose the false morality of people who “wrap their heavy addictions with non-existent principles”.

The most important question

“Who are eligible partners for a governing coalition after the October 27 election?” There is no other more important question than the one to the politicians, because of which Bulgaria is going to the seventh parliamentary elections in the last 3 years.

The answers do not depend on the results - the coalition formula of governing Bulgaria has been in circulation since the beginning of the 21st century and all participants in the political process know its irreversibility. If politicians are not aware of who their potential partners in government negotiations might be, then they do not belong in politics. Everything else - the program, the figure of the prime minister and the composition of the cabinet is a consequence of the answer to the above question.

The leader of GERB, Boyko Borisov, has already announced that he sees as natural partners the PP-DB, with whom they were together in the “assembly”, also the BSP and ITN - and rejected the “Vazrazhdane” as a possible partner. A few days ago, in the show “Panorama” of BNT Rosen Zhelyazkov made even more clear: “We with the DPS, not talking about one or the other DPS, will not enter into a coalition”. It's the turn of the others to speak.

What PP-DB say

“We do not trust each other”, Kiril Petkov had said on the occasion of Borisov's proposal, but with whom they would have - he did not say. DB co-chairman Atanas Atanasov is not so vague, stressing on Nova TV that it is imperative that the two political forces with the greatest support - PP-DB and GERB-SDS - find a way to each other. There is still no unified solution of the PP-DB coalition, and in their public appearances its leaders continue to avoid the key question of the coalition formula.

This formula inevitably goes through the topic of the two DPFs and the choice, and also through the definition “Euro-Atlantic” and “pro-European”. Thus, impossible allies fall away as soon as the criteria are introduced.
