What future in politics does Ahmed Dogan have, who announced that he will form a new party within three months. Orhan Ismailov, chairman of the political party “People's Party Freedom and Dignity“, spoke to FAKTI.
- Mr. Ismailov, we heard a request from Ahmed Dogan that he will form a new party. How do you view this?
- What we've been seeing lately is that there are many people who want to form new parties. We've seen this and heard from Ahmed Dogan that he wants to form a new party. A good idea, but I don't see how the falcon that he was famous for in the past can replace him. It is right now that it is something at least stronger and more powerful – like the Northwestern Golden Eagle with a red dot. I do not see potential in what Dogan wants to do.
- If he wants to be a factor in politics again, does he have any other choice?
- I do not know what Dogan wants, but he has not been in politics for a long time. He may have thought he was in politics, but he is not. This has been seen all along in the last year and a half.
- There are young people around him. Is his halo still strong enough to unite people around him…
- This legend, this myth that he is strong, has disappeared. The halo that was created for him during these years has disappeared and has not influenced any process. Proof of this is that we read in his declaration that the MRF has been hijacked - whatever that means.
- Dogan also talks about the authentic MRF, about the people who still believe in this party…
- Who are these people? It's better to ask him, because he was the one who distributed the rations, he was the instrument of power. Whatever he said, that's what happened. That one MP means nothing.

- I don't know if you remember, but in the statute of the MRF there was an article that said that the honorary chairman has almost such powers that he can maintain the strategic course, the balance in the party, etc. And it is precisely these people who he proposed that are the basis for the MRF being hijacked. These people the day before yesterday were bowing to Peevski, standing at his feet when they elected him, kissing his hand. You also saw how someone was always taking pictures next to the coat of arms in Todor Zhivkov's office with “the boy“. Overall, this is a storm in a teacup.

- Most of the people I spoke to are skeptical. I even spoke to Yucel Atilla, who is the founder of the MRF, but he also dissociates himself. Look, we have played this movie. In 2017, as the chairman of the "People's Party Freedom and Dignity" with Mestan's DOST, we united against the anti-democratic processes that were taking place in the MRF. What is happening now is deja vu for us. Then we saw how the same thugs were acting - then Dogan and Peevski were together, because we were subjected to them. So it is difficult to form a new party in the current situation. I don't see how the registration will go, because everyone knows how the system works. We couldn't even participate as a party in the last elections because they called about a bomb at the Sofia City Court when we had to get registered. We didn't get it and missed the moment, there was no time. In other words, we have seen these things. You also saw how Mr. Mestan was expelled from the DPS without being given the opportunity to defend himself, to explain what was going on. It's like this in the DPS - the sultan says, heaven acts. There's nothing to surprise us. It's the same in the New Beginning at the moment, but the tools are simply in different hands.
