Amorim is unhappy with the Man United academy - 1

Manchester United's head coach - Ruben Amorim, did not spare his criticism of some of the Red Devils' youth. In recent weeks, the Portuguese specialist has often been criticized for not giving enough minutes to midfielder Cobi Maino.

In his defense, Amorim replied that he is not afraid to give more playing time to young players, but did not fail to note how inconsistent the performances of other players from the club's academy are.

We are talking about 18-year-old striker Chido Obi and 18-year-old left-back Harry Amas, who was loaned to the second division Sheffield Wednesday. It was under Amorim's leadership that the two made their debuts for the United first team last season. Chido has made eight appearances, seven as a substitute and has not scored a single goal. Amas has made seven, four of them as a starter.

Amas has been in strong form for his Championship team this season and several teams are monitoring him.

Amorim has also mentioned another youngster at the club, 21-year-old midfielder Toby Collier, who has only made three starts for West Brom in the Championship.

"Collier played for the first team at United. He's from the academy. He played here before he went to West Brom. He's not playing now, but he used to play for Manchester United. So sometimes it's not because he's from the academy or anything like that. It's about the situation, what's happened. I don't know what the future holds for Mainu. Amas is struggling in the Championship. "Chido Obi is not always a starter in the under-21 team. All these guys played when a lot of people were saying the manager should be sacked," Amorim said.
