Freddie Ljungberg: I apologize to the Bulgarians for the four goals (PHOTOS) - 1

Swedish legend Freddie Ljungberg symbolically apologized to Bulgarian football fans for his four goals in different matches against our national team.

This happened during Ljungberg's meeting with Bulgarian financier Kiril Evtimov in London. The two watched the rematch between Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen at the Emirates, where the Gunners won 2-0 and qualified for the third consecutive year in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Evtimov told the Swede that during the years when Freddie was part of the "Tre Kunur" he constantly saddened the home fans with his goals. In five matches against Bulgaria, he has five wins and scored four goals.

„Over 20 years have passed since then, but I would like to apologize to the Bulgarian fans. Of the four goals he reminded me of, I clearly remember only the penalty in Sofia, which was in the „Panenka“ style. But I must say that despite the victories, it was never easy against you. Sometimes we were more disciplined, and other times luck was with us. I wish you success in football in the future“, added the former Arsenal midfielder.

As a sign of respect, Evtimov presented Freddie with a branded bag of Bulgaria with native souvenirs.

In addition to him, at „Emirates“ The Burgas native met with world champion Mats Hummels and Ballon d'Or winner Matthias Sammer, to whom he also gave bags of our souvenirs.

Samer sent special greetings to Krasi Balakov and Daniel Borimirov. The three toured the Bundesliga with great success in the 1990s.
