Stiliyana Nikolova won a silver medal, and Eva Brezalieva finished sixth in the individual all-around at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, which was held at Arena 8888, BTA reports. Nikolova collected a total of 116.200 points, after stable performances with hoop, ball and clubs, but made inaccuracies in her combination with ribbon. Thus, for the second year in a row, she won silver in front of her home audience in Sofia, while also adding her first points to the Olympic ranking for the Games at the 2028 Summer Olympics.
The pupil of Valentina Ivanova qualified for the finals of all four apparatuses – with a third result in hoop, first in ball, second in clubs and eighth in ribbon.
For her part, Brezalieva collected 111.150 points and will participate in two finals - in clubs, where she has a third result, and in ribbon, where she came sixth. In ball, she remained ninth and is the first reserve for the final.
The tournament was the first major competition of the season for both Bulgarians. Taisiya Onofrichuk became the champion in the all-around for the second year in a row with 116.600 points, and the bronze went to Sofia Rafaeli with 115.700.
Alina Harnasko and Meital Sumkin also made it to the top six. A total of 89 gymnasts from 52 countries participated in the competition.
