Bulgarian basketball star Alexander Vezenkov has a new team.
Toronto Raptors officially announced the signing of Vezenkov. The wing moved to Toronto as part of the Canadian team's deal with the Sacramento Kings, which includes several basketball players and a 2025 draft pick, BNR reported.
Toronto Raptors received Alexander Vezenkov and guard Davion Mitchell, 2024 draft pick Jamal Sheed, as well as the Californians' future second-round pick in 2025. “Kings” in turn, they got Jaylen McDaniels.
Last campaign, the Raptors finished 12th in the Eastern Conference. The team has only one title won in 2019. Our National took part in 42 games in his debut season in the strongest basketball championship in the world, in which he averaged 5.4 points and 2.3 rebounds. Vezenkov has been absent for a long time due to an ankle injury, bTV recalls.
The 28-year-old heavy winger and the coach of Toronto - the 45-year-old Serbian Darko Rajakovic, a few days ago were star participants from the NBA in a coaching seminar organized by the Euroleague in Athens. Last weekend, Vezenkov and Rajakovic were on stage together for the event organized by the Euroleague Coaches Board. It is assumed that it was there that the agreement in principle was reached for the implementation of the transaction.
Before taking the helm of the Canadiens, Rajakovic was an assistant in Oklahoma, Phoenix and Memphis.
