New Zealand women snatch gold from pair sculls in Paris

Brooke Francis and Lucy Spurs beat Tokyo champions Ancutsa Bodnar and Simona Radis (Romania) by 24 hundredths

Brooke Francis and Lucy Spurs of Nova Zealand won the women's double sculls gold in the rowing competition at the Paris Olympics, BTA reported.

They finished in 6:50.45 minutes and were 24 hundredths ahead of Ancutsa Bodnar and Simona Radis (Romania), who were champions at the Tokyo Games.

Rebecca Wilde and Matilda Hodgkins Byrne of Great Britain finished third, 2.37 seconds behind the winners.
