BFU Technical Director Kiril Kotev told journalists today that everyone's intention is to qualify for the higher level of the Nations League tournament. At Plovdiv Airport before the national team's departure for Ireland, he explained that the mistakes from the first match, lost 1:2, can be corrected tomorrow, BTA reported.
Bulgaria will play the Republic of Ireland in a second match tomorrow (Sunday, March 23) at 9:45 p.m.
"Our desire is to play in League B of the Nations League, this requires a victory. We will have our chances and we must make the most of them and not make the mistakes we made in Plovdiv," Kotev began.
"Mistakes are part of the game, but I hope we won't make them tomorrow. We also have personnel problems, but we also have people who can replace the players in question. Possible rotations may have an impact to some extent, but Ireland is in no way superior to us. We have opportunities. They beat us with our mistakes, which I am sure we will not make tomorrow," said Kotev.
When asked what the mood in the squad is, he replied: "When losing, there is always disappointment, but after the analysis that was done, we are aware - we will have our chances in Dublin and we are going out to win, Kotev concluded.
