Scandal before Bulgaria's decisive playoff for promotion to the top division of the League of Nations, writes bTV.
7Dnisport.bg reports that the president of the Bulgarian Professional League Atanas Karaivanov was thrown off the plane to Eire by the coach Ilian Iliev.
Iliyev was categorical that he would not lead the "lions" in front of Karaivanov in his last match at the helm of the national team. And to humiliate himself by riding on the same plane with the man who demanded his resignation, the publication claims.
Before lunch, the "lions" flew to Dublin, where they will face the "greens" tomorrow night in an attempt to make up for the 1:2 deficit from the first match in Plovdiv.
Earlier, Atanas Karaivanov demanded the resignation of the coach, accusing him of exceeding his rights. Iliev replied that he had no problem with this and submitted his written request to leave. After that, the president of the Bulgarian Football Union Georgi Ivanov demonstrated confidence in the coach and explained that he accepted Iliev's action only as a moral act, but not as a real desire to part with the post.
