Crystal Palace won the FA Cup after defeating Manchester City in the final with 1:0. The trophy is the first in the club's 164-year history, reports BTA. With the success, Palace also guarantees participation in the Europa League tournament next season.
The only goal of the match fell at the very beginning. In a quick counterattack, Daniel Munoz advanced down the left wing and with a low cross found Eberechi Eze. The English international found the ball on the move and sent it into Ederson's goal for 1:0.
Manchester City, who also lost last year's final, but to Manchester United, had a chance to equalize before the break. In the 36th minute, the "citizens" were awarded a penalty, but Omar Marmoush's shot was saved by goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
At the beginning of the second half, Munoz sent the ball into the goal of the Manchester team for the second time, but this goal was canceled for offside.
By the end of the match, the game had moved entirely to the half of the London club, but a series of brilliant saves by Henderson kept the score unchanged.
For Crystal Palace, this was the third final in history in the FA Cup tournament, with the "eagles" losing to Manchester United on the previous two occasions.
