Botev (Plovdiv) and Iliyan Filipov did not reach an agreement to sign a contract for the transfer of the shares of the "yellow-black", both parties announced in official positions, BTA reported
The club has requested a postponement until 12:00 on June 24 due to a clause establishing personal liability by the members of the current Board of Directors of the "canaries" for hidden liabilities that have arisen above the announced amount of nearly 5.5 million leva, but Iliyan Filipov has refused to wait and announced that he is withdrawing from the negotiations.
"Dear Botev fans,
Tonight /b.r. last night/ another round of negotiations between the majority owner of PFC Botev, represented by attorney Ivan Demerdzhiev, and representatives of the PFC Botev Association and Iliyan Filipov.
The negotiations ended a while ago, with the parties reaching an agreement on some of the most important issues, but no agreement was signed.
An agreement was reached between the parties to authorize a person, indicated by Iliyan Filipov, to manage the current management of the club together with the current procurator Alexey Kirichek. PFC Botev AD stated its readiness for this to happen tomorrow.
Significant progress was achieved on the issue of the liability of the members of the Board of Directors, and a clause was drawn up to this effect. Our initial position that the Board of Directors should not assume personal liability for the club's obligations was changed in the interests of the future of the club and reaching an agreement between the parties. Since the text of the agreement required the members of the board of directors to take personal responsibility, they asked Mr. Filipov until 12:00 on June 24 to specify the figures and sign the clause agreed upon by the parties regulating their personal responsibility.
Unfortunately, Mr. Filipov did not want to wait until tomorrow to finalize the discussion of the agreement, which is why he stated that he was terminating the negotiations.
For our part, we continue our efforts to find a workable solution for the future of the club," says the official position of Botev (Plovdiv).
In response, Iliyan Filipov stated in his position that he interprets the actions of the current management as "deliberately bringing the club to bankruptcy".
"Dear Botev fans,
It is with regret that I inform you that the future of our beloved club PFC Botev Plovdiv remains in complete obscurity.
For weeks I have been making clear and specific requests to the current management of the club in the hope of reaching an agreement in the interests of Botev. Unfortunately, Mr. Zingarevich categorically refused to sign a clause to take responsibility for any hidden liabilities of over 5.5 million leva accumulated during his management.
For me, the actions of this group of people speak only of one thing - deliberately bringing the club to bankruptcy.
I made a number of concessions in the name of saving Botev. I even agreed to Mr. Zingarevich's unprecedented request - to take four more players with him when he left, given that our team was left without a coach, without players and without a future. But I can't take over the club with unclear obligations and sign a blank check.
Over the years, I have personally invested over 4 million leva in Mr. Zingarevich's business ventures. Now I was ready to provide another 5.5 million leva, solely to save Botev. But the arrogance and irresponsibility on the other side are boundless.
The witnesses to the last meeting were: Petar Petrov, Rangel Mutafchiyski and Tihomir - the lawyer of the Association.
It is with pain that I inform you that I am withdrawing from the process, because time has run out and it is now practically impossible to organize a team that will start in the First League.
I am sorry. I did everything in my power. But the other side not only did not show the same dedication - it worked in the opposite direction.
Long live Botev!", wrote Iliyan Filipov.
