CSKA head coach Dusan Kerkez admitted that currently the "reds" are not at the level he requires from his team. He spoke after the 1:1 draw at the away game against Botev (Plovdiv), which was also his official debut at the helm of the "army men" against his former team, BTA reported.
"It's a bit strange for me. I've been here for two years and it's been very good. I've given my all. Thank you to the fans. I understand the disappointment of some of them, but that's life. I wish success to Botev and the fans. "Today's match was a good thing for Bulgaria," said Kerkez after the match.
"I am not satisfied with the first 30 minutes. We did not do what we have been working on in recent weeks. We need to analyze and see where the problem is. I am not satisfied with this moment and the result, although it may be correct", he added.
"Until now, we have not been lucky. There are players who could not help the team today. We expect new players to raise the level of the team. The team is certainly not at the level that I and the fans want at the moment. I thank them for their support. We as players and the coaching staff must give more", said Dusan Kerkez.
"I have worked for two years at Botev with money and without money. I have forgiven part of my salary from Botev because I understand that the club needed help. I am a professional and now I will give my all for CSKA. I and my staff will remain in the history of Botev. No one can change that. First of all, I want to do something big with the CSKA team. I believe in these players. CSKA will be a very good team and will play much better football," the specialist concluded.
