Thibault Vion is the next player who may part ways with CSKA. The 31-year-old Frenchman is the team's most experienced field player, but he will most likely follow Liam Cooper, whose contract was terminated two days ago, Topsport reported.
In early February, Vion signed a new contract with the club until the summer of 2027. However, there will be a separation. He played on both full-backs and was also used as a defensive midfielder over the years. The Frenchman joined the 31-time champions in September 2020. He gradually reached the captain's armband.
He recorded nearly 200 matches for CSKA. It is almost certain that in August or at the latest in the first days of September, his contract with the club will be terminated.
The CSKA blacklist also includes Aaron Iseka, Jason Lokillo, Mika Pinto, Zümür Butuchi, Ivan Turitsov and Brian Cordoba.
CSKA is expected to sign a fifth new player within hours. It will be a foreigner, and most likely he will be a winger - a left back or winger, or a midfielder. These are some of the most urgent positions for reinforcement.
So far, CSKA has signed central defender Teodor Ivanov, inner midfielder David Seger, right back Pastor and left winger Kevin Doday. The fifth new addition to CSKA should become a fact by the end of the week.
Otherwise, CSKA offensive player Ilian Iliev is expected to return to Dusan Kerkez's 11 for the upcoming away game against Lokomotiv Plovdiv on Saturday. The match at "Lauta" starts at 19:00. Despite the hot weather, the match remains unchanged at the starting time, because the Smurfs stadium has a problem with the lighting due to the visors. Apart from Loko Pd, they have not given their consent to the change.
The good news in the army camp is that there are no injuries after the match with Spartak Varna. The latest new additions - full-back Pastor and striker Doday, are still without rights. Work visas are awaited, and the club is hopeful that things can be settled by Saturday.
