The Polish Rakow has appealed to UEFA to demand that Maccabi Haifa be excluded from European club tournaments in the 2026/27 season after displaying a political banner during the second leg of the third qualifying round of the Conference League. The banner read: "Murderers from 1939", BTA reported.
Rakuv won 2-0 and after losing 0-1 in the first leg, they advanced to face Arda Kardzhali for a place in the group stage.
"In light of the scandalous incidents involving Maccabi fans during Thursday's match in Debrecen, we have filed an official complaint with UEFA, demanding, among other things, that the Israeli club be excluded from European competitions next season due to repeated violations of the federation's rules," RIA Novosti quoted the Polish club as saying.
The UEFA Disciplinary Committee had previously opened an investigation into Maccabi and Rakuv. The Israelis could also be punished for the team's unacceptable behavior, and the Poles for the fans' use of pyrotechnics.
