On August 30, Saturday, at 6:00 PM, in the hall of the Cultural Center of Neftohimika (NHK) in Burgas, a special meeting will take place with one of the most emblematic figures of Bulgarian football, Bozhidar Iskrenov –The Gibbon.
This meeting, with the support of the Burgas Municipality, is an extremely exciting opportunity for fans and sports enthusiasts in the city and the region to meet with the Joy of the People, where they can hear interesting stories from his career.
At the audience, Gibi will present his autobiographical book “Without Shoes“, in which he talks about the events and people in his rich career, but also about football, events, players and coaches in these remarkable 16 years, considered by many to be the most golden period in the history of the great game. All fans will have the opportunity to get the book, get an autograph and a photo with the legendary football player. Other special guests at the event will be the co-author of the book and journalist Vasil Kolev, financier Kiril Evtimov, as well as local football legends.
Bozhidar Iskrenov is one of the greatest football players in the history of „Levski“ and certainly the most beloved. He was born on August 1, 1962 in Sofia. He played as a winger in „Levski“ (1979-88), „Zaragoza“ (1989), „Levski“ (1989), „Lausanne“ (1989-91), „Botev“ Plovdiv (1991-92), CSKA (1993), „Shumen“ (1993), CSKA (1994), „Shumen“ (1994) and „Septemvri“ (1995). For the Bulgarian national team he has recorded 56 matches and 5 goals according to FIFA. Champion of Bulgaria in 1984, 1985 and 1988 and winner of the cup in 1982, 1984, 1986 and 1993. He is called Gibbon (Gibby), as well as the Joy of the People.
