Romano Floriani Mussolini, son of former senator Alessandra Mussolini and great-grandson of Benito Mussolini, recorded a dream debut in Serie “A”, reports . The young midfielder became a hero for Cremonese in the 3-2 victory over Sassuolo, after making the decisive penalty in the 92nd minute of the match. Entering the field just seven minutes before the end of the match, the 22-year-old footballer demonstrated composure and self-confidence. With his first touch, he assisted Okereke for a goal, which was disallowed for a foul.
Instead of getting discouraged, Floriani Mussolini continued to look for a way to help his team and in the final seconds he outpaced a defender in the penalty area, winning a penalty that brought Cremonese all three points. Interestingly, the youngster chose to have only “Romano“ written on his shirt, in order to avoid unnecessary controversy and focus entirely on his performances on the pitch.
“So much has happened in such a short time, and tonight I will never forget it. My Serie A debut has always been my dream”, the footballer shared with DAZN after the match.
“The coach told me to attack the spaces and create problems for Sassuolo's defense. I'm glad I was able to help. For the disallowed goal, I knew there might have been contact, but unfortunately the referee called a foul. In the end, things worked out for the best," he added.
