With the arrival of the new school year, the popular navigation application waze has introduced an important change for Bulgarian drivers. It now notifies about the sections where the average speed is measured, which helps drivers to be more careful and follow traffic rules.
How does the new feature work?
When you enter such a section, a symbol will appear on the screen of your device, indicating the beginning of the control zone. The app offers two different notification modes, depending on whether you are using navigation or not:
With navigation route:
Notification: Waze will warn you when you approach the zone, and again when you enter it.
Visualization: A bar appears on the side of the screen that shows your progress in the section until you leave it.
End of section: The app will notify you when you leave the control zone.
Without navigation route:
Notification: You will only be notified when you enter and leave the average speed section.
Lack of information: You will not receive a prior warning of approaching, nor will you see a progress bar.
Important clarification:
It should be borne in mind that Waze does not show your current average speed on the route, nor does it calculate whether you have exceeded the limit. The application continues to display only your current speed if you have activated this option.
Although some other applications, such as the A1, offer more detailed information about average speed, waze's innovation is extremely useful for a wide audience of drivers. It provides a reliable and universal warning that helps increase road safety.
