The design developed by Electra allows planes to take off and land using small areas the size of a football field - 91x30 meters . Another interesting thing is that the sound level of the Electra engines does not exceed 75 decibels at a distance of 91 meters.
Eight small propellers direct airflow over the wings, creating enormous lift at low speeds. Five of them are powered by silent electric motors powered by lithium batteries, allowing fully electric take-off and landing.
Electra's cruising speed is 322 km/h. The flight distance of the electric plane that can travel on a single charge is 805 km. The installation of a hybrid system has a major role in reducing fuel consumption by 40% every 161 km.
Electra has now completed its first test flight at Manassas Airport in Virginia using the EL-2 Goldfinch demonstration prototype. Serial production of the aircraft is planned to begin by 2028. See more.
