During the presentation of the third generation Mercedes-Benz CLA sedan, a two-volume version unexpectedly appeared. Despite the thick camouflage layer, the general proportions and design features can be seen in the photos. The new model will be called CLA Shooting Brake, and its unification with the sedan will be maximum: the rear part is designed in a similar style, the lighting and bumpers remain unchanged. The rear roof pillar will remain inclined, as in the previous generation.

When presenting the new Mercedes-Benz CLA sedan, the company focused on the electric versions, which we told you about in detail, so most likely the station wagon will also debut in a fully electric version. At the same time, Chinese sources report that hybrid modifications are also being prepared. In particular, the range is expected to include mild hybrids with a 1.5-liter engine from Geely, as well as plug-in hybrids capable of traveling up to 100 km on electricity without activating the internal combustion engine.

It is the plug-in hybrid version that will become the most powerful among the gasoline modifications of the Mercedes-Benz CLA, developing 300 hp. For comparison, the mild hybrid with 4x4 drive will receive 190 hp, and the fully electric version - 354 hp. The fastest version of the Shooting Brake will be able to accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. A locally produced extended version of the CLA is also expected in China.

In Europe, sales of the new generation of sedans will begin in July, and their production for the European market will continue in Germany. The premiere of the Shooting Brake will be in September at the IAA motor show in Munich. It is not yet known when the Chinese version will be presented, but it is expected to be the most affordable in the line.
