Failure to comply with the "green road signs" does not lead to a fine - 1

A new type of road sign has begun to appear in some countries in Europe. It is a round sign with a green frame that recommends a speed on a given section of the road. However, it turns out that this sign actually duplicates a similar square sign on a blue background (it is also present in the Bulgarian traffic rules).

Therefore, despite the appearance of such a sign (currently on Spanish and British roads) it is still not considered officially legal. This is also the opinion of the DGT (Directorate General of the Spanish Department of Transport), quoted by Motorpasion .

"Green signs" indicate the recommended speed in areas with many pedestrians: for example, near schools or pedestrian streets. But it is important to note that “green signs“ only recommend a speed, and failure to comply does not result in a fine.
