Borisov today signed the resignation of Anton Slavchev from the Anti-Corruption Commission, after he had promised it three weeks ago, but had not done so for a long time. His colleague Mirchev came to the podium and said: "Here, a rare opportunity, Borisov is in the hall." Then he went to him and gave him the resignation to sign. Borisov signed it. Anton Slavchev is extremely close to Peevski, he carries out all the dirty orders in the Anti-Corruption Commission. Whether this is what triggered today's reaction of Peevski, who showed a photo of Boyko Rashkov, we can only guess. This was announced to Lili Marinkova in the studio "FACTS" and the show "Conversation" by Bozhidar Bozhanov, co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“.
“Peevski, as we know, shows some photos from time to time. Rashkov has already commented that he does not know this person. These photos are part of Peevski's “compromising bank“ - there are also more harmless shots in it, but certainly also those that hint at committed crimes and can be used as pressure. We have filed signals to the prosecutor's office about this compromising bank, but they were “squeezed“ by Slavchev and Sarafov. Whether some of these photos are fakes or artificial intelligence - I cannot say. But the case in which Peevski suddenly comes out and shows compromising information coincided suspiciously with the submission of the “Vazrazhdane“ bill, which is, to put it mildly, curious“, added Bozanov.
“After a long silence "Vazrazhdane" suddenly introduced a bill whose goal was obviously to remove Peevski from the elections because of his inclusion in the "Magnitsky" list. The irony is that it was they - "Vazrazhdane" - who did not support the previous time when we introduced the law on measures against money laundering and the application of sanctions under "Magnitsky" in our country. However, now they are suddenly coming out with something that is absolutely illiterately written. The bill not only cannot work, it is unconstitutional. What needs to be settled is a matter of the Electoral Code and the Law on Political Parties, 20-30 other laws are being changed," the guest also said.
"Written in this way, it opens the door to absurd interpretations - including countries such as Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea or even North Macedonia could impose sanctions on Bulgarian citizens, and this would automatically disqualify them from participating in elections. Imagine that tomorrow North Macedonia decides to sanction Tsoncho Ganev - and according to this law he cannot be an MP. This is absurd. The law submitted by “Vazrazhdane“ was coordinated with GERB. “Vazrazhdane“ introduces it, and GERB moves it along the fastest possible track - it passes through a committee, without discussion, and the very next day enters the chamber. Usually, when we propose bills, they are delayed for months. Now, however, this project was passed by extraordinary order, together with the changes in the rules for SANS and with the president's funds. The goal was clear - to undermine our anti-corruption line and to make it appear that we are not against Peevski, but “Vazrazhdane“ are the “real fighters against the oligarchy”. The truth is that this law is not possible. Yes, we supported the idea at first reading that the sanctions under “Magnitsky“ should be applied in some clear order in Bulgaria, but we categorically stated that between the first and second readings the text should be completely rewritten. The bill by “Vazrazhdane“ and GERB is legally illiterate, politically motivated and dangerous. Its real goal was not to solve the problem with the sanctions, but to serve Peevski and distract attention from the corruption scandals“, the guest also shared.
