Rumen Petkov in front of the FACTS: Brendo left the country freely when Borisov was prime minister (VIDEO) - 1

For Brendo to go home and go to prison himself is an extremely important decision and probably it is basically dictated by a motivation that has guarantees in it and someone is the guarantor of the deal. Whether this someone is an active political figure today is another matter, but the fact that Mr. Brendo left the country without hindrance with a valid conviction, back when Borisov was Prime Minister, cannot help impressing.

I have raised the question several times about the so-called Galevi brothers, they left the country also with an effective conviction. There are dozens of such cases, but not of this caliber. However, we, as a society, continue to consider this to be normal. It escapes the attention of the National Assembly, i.e. power creates these conditions. Rumen Petkov, former interior minister, commented this in the studio of FACTS to Lili Marinkova.

I want to add an extremely ugly example, when Brendo was arrested in 2022 in Ukraine, it turned out that he was a Ukrainian citizen and the country refused to return him. So we have to realize what kind of regime we are talking about there and what kind of readiness of President Zelensky to patronize criminals. These things should not escape our attention, why, listening to a number of analyses, some of which are deeply disturbing, somehow these two facts escape the commentators, said Petkov.

When asked if there is any agreement with Brendo regarding the upcoming negotiations for a government, he replied: I would not even allow such an abomination, because in the formation of the government Brendo is the foundation seems disgusting. Brendo could have turned himself in to another country, but he chose Bulgaria, and this, in my opinion, is a healthy decision for him. The question that the Ministry of Interior should seek a solution for is – why he at a prime age and health decided to go to prison, but the first big question is how he got home.

According to him, creating the impression that the actions of our state and institutions are determined by external factors is becoming increasingly difficult.
