A plane carrying tourists skidded off the runway and landed on a grassy area at the airport in the Polish city of Krakow today, DPA reported, BTA reported.
Nearly 190 passengers on board managed to leave the plane unharmed, a spokesman for the airport authority said today, quoted by the Polish news agency PAP.
According to initial information, no serious injuries were reported. The incident took place at Krakow international airport - the second largest in the country.
The plane, administered by the charter flight company "Enter Air", was returning tourists to Poland from the Turkish resort of Antalya.
A statement by the company on the social network "Facebook" The plane entered "open ground next to the runway during a landing in very severe weather conditions (heavy rain)", the DPA reported. The airport was closed for several hours, the agency added.
