Four people were killed in a Ukrainian drone attack in Russia's Samara region (Volga Federal District), regional governor Vyacheslav Fedoryshev said, quoted by Agence France-Presse and BTA.
Earlier, Ukraine reported that Russia attacked it with hundreds of drones last night, with the latest data indicating that four people were killed in the strikes.
“I report with deep regret that four people were killed in an enemy attack last night“, Fedoryshev said on social media. He added that one person was injured.
The attack is one of the deadliest Ukrainian retaliatory strikes against Russia.
The Russian Defense Ministry said it had intercepted 149 Ukrainian drones overnight Saturday, including 15 over the Samara region, located about 800 km. from the Ukrainian front.
Moscow has been announcing almost daily that it has destroyed Ukrainian drones. Ukraine says it is carrying out the strikes, which often target energy facilities, in response to Russian bombing of its cities.
