Russian President Vladimir Putin is afraid of one thing - this is an increase in military aid to Ukraine to a level that would change the situation on the front. This was stated by Russian opposition politician Dmitry Gudkov to FREEDOM TV.
According to him, the war in Ukraine will not end soon because Putin believes that time is on his side.
„Putin's philosophy is that there are more people, more money, and by continuing this war and dragging out negotiations, he is confident that at some point the situation will change radically in his favor. This is his calculation“, Gudkov said.
„Putin's calculations do not take into account the economic situation. He does not care how people live, how many will die, or what will happen "It happened after he left. This is madness, there is no other way to describe it," the Russian oppositionist said.
Now the question is: what could influence Putin? Only an increase in Western military aid to Kiev could make him stop the war.
Gudkov said the US had a lot of weapons with which it could have quickly ended the war in Ukraine, but it was unclear why it had given only a very small part of them to the Ukrainian forces. Another option is to deprive Putin of his income. Sanctions, such as the seizure of $300 billion worth of Central Bank assets, are the right step.
