The Telegraph: Donald Trump appears to have washed his hands of the war in Ukraine - 1

US President Donald Trump's speech to the UN General Assembly and his pro-Ukrainian post may seem like a “shocking turn“, but in fact it could be bad news for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, writes Rob Creeley, a correspondent for the British The Telegraph, quoted by Focus.

Creeley's article states that instead of promising new support for Ukraine or increasing pressure on Russia, Trump is shifting responsibility to Europe and NATO.

The author adds that there are “no hints“ for additional support for Ukraine or that he will continue to "punish Moscow for its invasion".

"His only obligation is to continue selling weapons to allies. That is unlikely to change the situation".

According to Rob Creeley, after Trump "staked" his reputation to bring Putin to Alaska for talks and put himself at the center of the negotiation process, he learned a hard lesson: ending the war is difficult.

It is noted that all statements may sound as if Trump "washes his hands" from the war in Ukraine.

"It seems that he may have gotten tired", the journalist points out.

Earlier, Trump, on the social network Truth Social, after his meeting with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, stated that Ukraine, with the support of the EU, can regain all of its territories seized by Russia.

"After getting to know and fully understanding the military and economic situation in Ukraine and Russia, as well as seeing the economic problems it causes for Russia, I believe that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, has every opportunity to fight and return all of Ukraine to its original form. With time, patience and financial support from Europe, and especially NATO, returning to the original borders from where this war began is a completely realistic option. Why not?“, the US president wrote.

Later, during a meeting in New York at the UN General Assembly with French President Emmanuel Macron, the US president confirmed that he believes that "Ukraine must return all the lands that have been seized by Russia".
