Iran has recalled its ambassadors to Germany, France and Britain for consultations in connection with the mechanism for restoring UN sanctions against the country, Reuters reported, citing the state news agency Mer, BTA reports.
“Following the irresponsible actions of the three European countries to return repealed UN Security Council resolutions, Iran's ambassadors to Germany, France and the United Kingdom were summoned to Tehran for consultations“, state television reported.
The move comes after Russian and Chinese efforts at the 15-member UN Security Council to postpone the resumption of international sanctions against Tehran over its nuclear program failed yesterday program.
Only four countries yesterday supported the draft resolution by Moscow and Beijing, paving the way for the return of sanctions.
